How does the ULTIMATE CALL BLOCKER works?
When a call comes in, the UBlocker automatically connects to HQTelecom’s secure cloud server to verify the caller’s number. It checks three lists: the Global Blacklist, your Personal Blacklist, and your Whitelist. If the number appears on any blacklist, the call is disconnected within 1–2 seconds, stopping unwanted calls before you even pick up.
Can the UBlocker work by itself? Even if I don't manage my lists?
Yes! Once setup, UBlocker works automatically without having to manage your lists. Since the UBlocker has over 500K numbers in the Global Blacklist, it will automatically block all calls from these blacklisted numbers linked to scams, frauds, and unsolicited calls.
What is required for the UBlocker to work?
- A landline phone line (can be POTs, cooper-based, Cable-based, or VoIP).

I can't connect to 192.168.2.1?
First of all, you don't connect to 192.168.2.1, you browse to 192.168.2.1 using a browser in your PC or smartphone AFTER you have JOINed to the ublocker as your WIFI network. So, between steps 1a) and 1b), you can check your wifi network to make sure you are connected to ublocker as your wifi network. If so, you should see that the IP address for the router is 192.168.2.1 ...when you click the information icon on the WIFI network.

How do I set a blocked phone number to be an allowed phone number?
Simply login to your account at using any internet capable device (PC/MAC, tablet or cell phone).
Will my device stop working when my device's subscription expires?
Your UBlocker may continue to block calls, however you will not be able to manage your lists online unless you pay a yearly maintenance fee. This fee allows us to cover the recurring costs associated with maintaining the website up and running, and also maintaining the Global Blacklist.
Will I lose any of the numbers I have previously blocked?
No, all the numbers (names and area codes) that are in your personal lists (Blacklist, Whitelist, and New) at the time your subscription expires will remain in your device, including the numbers initially detected and blocked by the Global Blacklist (as you may noticed, there are numbers in your personal Blacklist that were added automatically by HQTelecom's Global Blacklist service). Again, we highly recommend that you renew your subscription as soon as possible in order to get the best possible protection.
How does the Global Blacklist affect my UBlocker's functionality?
The Global Blacklist enhances your UBlocker's functionality by automatically blocking over 500,000 numbers (and growing at a rate of thousands daily) linked to scams and spams in the US and abroad.
How do I know when a call is blocked?

What's the difference between the Ultimate Call Blocker and Nomorobo?
There are some key differences between Nomorobo and the Ultimate Call Blocker.
Can the UBlocker block call that show as "unavailable" also?
Yes, you can block calls using any names e.g. "unavailable".
My phone company identifies some junk calls by prefixing the CID name with SPAM-XXXXXXX. How would I go about blocking all calls with a CID name starting with "SPAM"?
A simple way to block all these calls is adding the name "SPAM" to the Blacklist as a NAME filter. This will block all calls that have the SPAM in the CID name. Also, please keep in mind that most likely these numbers are already registered in HQTelecom's Global Blacklist so even if you don't add this filter, 99% of these will be blocked.
In the case of a power outage, will the UBlocker unit default to pass-through until power is restored?
Yes, if the UBlocker is turned OFF due to a power failure or if the Internet is down, there will be no call blocking (e.g, pass-through) until power is restored and/or Internet is back online.
Keep getting "Internal Server Error' at www.ultimatecallblocker.com. How can I fix this?
This issue seems to be linked to compatibility issues with secured (SSL) certificates on websites and some browser versions (e.g. Apple / Safari users). Below are some recommendations you can follow to fix this issue:
My UBlocker is not working (blocking calls or logging calls)

Why should I pay extra for hardware replacement?
This yearly fee covers all hardware components that may get damaged such as the UBlocker, power adapter or phone adapter. So, in case your device stops registering calls for any reason, we will send you a replacement, and a return shipping envelop at no additional cost to you.
My UBlocker doesn't seem to stay connected to my router. Is that okay?
That is normal for our UBlockers. Our devices are designed to stay in 'passive' mode until they receive incoming calls. The local connections to the local routers may disappear (e.g. not show as active devices) depending on your local router's cache time-out settings. There is a simple test you can do in order to make sure your UBlocker is working properly. Here it is:
How many calls are being blocked by the Global Blacklist?
We can assure you we are working very hard to grow our Blacklist database. Please know that we are constantly collecting numbers from various government and private sources such as consumer.ftc.gov, several phone companies user blogs, social networks, and community groups.
Can I block "Out of Area" calls?
Yes, you can block "OUT OF AREA" calls by adding an entry with the text "OUT OF AREA" as "Exact Match" to the Blacklist.
Why are there 4 USB ports on my Ultimate Call Blocker when only 1 USB port is used?
Good question ... The hardware used for the UBlocker - LAN or LAN/WiFi version are mini-computers also known as Raspberry Pi boards. The hardware vendors for these mini computers manufactured them with 4 USB ports and also a HDMI port - none of which are used by our application except for 1 USB port.
What to do if my UBlocker freezes or stops working?
Essentially the UBlocker is a computer, so "why computers freeze?" there is no single answer -- it could be some hardware or software issue, or it can also be related to some issue external to the device such as the router or wifi software. If your Ublocker is no logging calls in the 'call log', power cycle your Ublocker. Just wait 2-3 minutes before powering back ON again. This should fix the problem 99% of the time.
My UBlocker stops working and needs to power cycle every few days. Why and how can I fix this?
The main reason why the UBlocker stops registering calls is because it looses its network connectivity. There are a number of reasons why this may happen, but they are all related to your local network. Below are some tips to prevent these network issues:
